**ABOUT YOU**:
You are an excellent communicator with particular skills in problem solving and working under pressure.
- You have experience working for a service company or something similar.
- You are easy to get along with
- You have excellent organizational skills and are detail oriented
- You have experience in basic computing
- You live in St. Catharines and know the city well
- Post secondary education in administration is definitely an advantage

**ABOUT THE POSITION**:
You will be responsible for handling and dispatching incoming tow calls. Additional responsibilities include:

- Cataloguing tow calls into our computer software
- Answer business calls
- Work closely with all the other employees

A Dispatcher typically works in the transportation industry helping to coordinate and optimize delivery schedules. They will work to resolve any logístical problems that arise such as traffic or other delays. A Dispatcher may also be responsible for updating customer web portals with up-to-date information. Lastly, they must always ensure proper safety procedures are being carried out.
- Organizational skills to keep track of projects and tasks

- Research about the company and preparation for the interview
- Communication skills to describe their thoughts clearly

Tow Truck Dispatchers coordinate roadside assistance, manage logistics for vehicle recovery, and ensure prompt, efficient service. Responsibilities include receiving emergency calls, dispatching tow trucks, and tracking job progress.

**Responsibilities**:

- Answering incoming calls and responding to customer inquiries and requests for tow truck services
- Dispatching tow trucks to the appropriate location based on the type of service needed and the availability of drivers
- Communicating with tow truck drivers to provide updates on job assignments and changes to the schedule
- Monitoring tow truck activity to ensure that all jobs are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Recording and maintaining accurate records of all job assignments and customer interactions
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure that customer needs are met and service levels are maintained
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
- Performing other duties as assigned by management

**Requirements**:

- two years of experience in dispatching tow trucks or similar vehicles
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions
- familiarity with GPS and mapping software
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- valid driver's license and clean driving record
- familiarity with relevant regulations and laws related to towing and transportation

Pay: $17.20-$17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- St. Catharines, ON L2T 1J6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
