The Corporate Events Specialist will be responsible for project management and execution of corporate events, including external philanthropic events, while supporting strategic internal communications for Reliance’s 2,750+ team members. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, this individual will work with internal stakeholders to deliver communications and manage partnerships to execute events across all areas of the business. This is a hands-on position for an individual who wants to be a part of a purpose-driven organization, has a strong passion for driving team member engagement, and a keen attention to detail.

What will you do?
- Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers.
- Corporate Event Management
- Lead internal events including educational panel sessions, town halls, and annual summit
- Accountable for the quality of event design, planning, and execution from start to finish
- Partner with charitable organizations for philanthropic events and ESG initiatives
- Support and consult with internal stakeholders on ad-hoc events and initiatives
- Active participant and involvement with Reliance’s internal committees to support communications activities and events
- Internal Communications
- Support the implementation of Reliance’s communications strategy
- Manage and maintain a robust calendar of dates and key milestones
- Support team member engagement through various initiatives and happenings
- Key involvement with the implementation of digital communications tools

What do you bring?
- A growth mindset: above all else, we’re looking for people who are dependable, ambitious and want to grow with Reliance
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, business, event planning, or a related discipline and equivalent work experience
- Minimum two (2) years of corporate event management experience for in-person events (relevant experience includes philanthropic activities, conferences, town halls, etc.)
- Project management experience
- Experience managing and executing internal communications is a plus
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively manage competing priorities and deliverables
- Exceptional writing and verbal communications skills
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Occasional travel for meetings, events, and project related work, as required - mandatory three days in office and two days remote each week
