**Reporting**:
The Site Academic Coordinator reports to the NOSM U Pediatric Residency Program Director and works collaboratively with the NOSM U Pediatric Residency Program regional Site Directors.

**Responsibilities**:
**Summary of Functions**:
In conjunction with the Site Director, the Site Academic Coordinator is responsible for supporting each Pediatric resident in completing the required number of EPAs and practice STACERs during each of their residency academic years. As the NOSM U Pediatric Program is distributed in nature, the Site Academic Coordinator for each specific site must work collaboratively with all the other Site Academic Coordinators and with the Program’s PGME Coordinator, to track each resident’s progress and ensure their site is offering each learner the required academic and clinical experiences.

**Key Responsibilities at Site Level**:

- Ensure each resident is completing at least two practice STACERs per academic year in PGY 1-3 and that faculty are well versed in the STACER requirements as determined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
- Ensure each resident is being offered a minimum of 3-4 opportunities to complete EPAs per week as defined by their CBD stage (Or PGY year until all residents are on the CBD stream).
- Identify when visiting specialty clinics are being offered at their site and work with schedulers to ensure all residents are being scheduled into these clinics evenly over the course of the academic year
- Organize and facilitate delivery of academic teaching sessions for all residents on the rotation, including both pediatrics and off service residents
- Identify faculty and other community resources that can provide additional teaching in order to ensure the residents are meeting the objectives and competencies of the residency program
- Attend the pediatric RPC, as a guest, twice a year when the residents are presenting the resident report in order to ensure their site is optimizing the academic needs of the resident body
- Participate in the faculty retreats and when needed participate in the planning of these sessions
- Participate in the organization of the northern Pediatric Grand Rounds

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- A pediatrician licensed in Ontario and practicing at the main pediatric teaching site in Sudbury
- A current faculty appointment (or eligibility for same) with NOSM U

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of the pediatric training program and specific academic requirements in each stage/PGY year of the program.
- Self-motivated and directed
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

**Language**:

- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
- French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset

**Remuneration**:

- As per the stipendiary faculty remuneration process

**Time Commitment**:

- Up to a maximum of one (1.0) day per month (one-quarter (0.25) of a day per week)
