**Job Purpose**:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all aspects of recruiting including interviewing, reference checks and on-boarding, will ensure all HR related policies and procedures are current with federal and provincial legislation and will act as liaison with the WSIB. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for accurately issuing pay to Marineland employees in accordance with established practices and guidelines, ensuring required documentation are on file. The Individual must be committed to providing exceptional service to all employees of Marineland while maintaining professional and ethical confidentiality.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Post job opportunities and source job fairs at universities, colleges and employment agencies; attend events to promote Marineland as an employer
- Screen and interview all prospective employees
- Design and facilitate onboarding presentation, schedule orientation sessions
- Review, verify and track new/rehired and terminated employee’s documentation; follow up with employees & managers for missing information/paperwork completion of training, documentation and employment status and cancel or arrange cancellation of employee access upon termination of employment
- Review and revise seasonal and full-time employee documentation: employment agreement, Team Member Handbook, Uniform Order form, Medical Information form etc.
- Maintain HR database system for employees and First Aid accidents/incidents and act as liaison with WSIB and employees
- Review and update the Health and Safety manual to meet legislative requirements
- Annually, review Certifications/Licenses and medical requirements for all needs and coordinate training and appointment dates with employees and facilitators
- Participate on Joint Health and Safety Committee: schedule meetings and workplace inspections
- Verify clock time in system after approved by managers, investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
- Process bi-weekly payroll for full time and seasonal employees within established deadlines
- Address employee’s pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information
- Provide employment verification upon request from employee
- Ensure compliance with government requirements, including filing Records of Employment
- Assist with internal and external audits relating to payroll
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll/HR related information
- Ad hoc analysis and all other duties assigned by the Marineland management team

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related required
- Experience in a payroll related field is required and 2 years of Human Resources experience required
- Experience working with ADP
- Highly computer literate, working with Microsoft Office and related Human Resources and communication tools
- Knowledge of federal and provincial labour legislation
- Strong organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, organizational and conflict management skills
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedure and WHMIS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with continuous interruptions; exposure to stress in terms of meeting hiring targets for park opening and maintaining staffing levels, employee issues
- Ability to support a 7 day a week operation if required
