**Summary**

The Warehouse Lead Hand is responsible for ensuring that all processes run safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Maintaining key performance indicators, and food safety while providing training, guidance, and direction to the warehouse staff. The Lead Hand also ensures that all warehouse personnel is trained and competent in all areas of responsibility within the warehouse operations.

**Shift**: Nights(11:15 pm-7:30 am)

**Earns**: $23.65 - 23.90/hr (+ shift premium)

**Key Accountabilities**
- Train all staff on standard work instructions and SOPs of the warehouse and validate this training by demonstration, documentation, and employee acknowledgment.
- Coach team members to optimize performance, build effective teams, and develop direct reports.
- Enforce safety and food safety practices and maintain BRC, HACCP, and GMP requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies (shunt driver).
- Work with management to find ways to reduce costs, optimize storage capacity, and identify OFIs.
- Plan labor coverage for peak workloads, vacations, and break coverage.
- Meet monthly employee engagement targets by ensuring all employees attend alchemy training and submit RBS observations.
- Actively participate in all scheduled meetings.

**Daily Responsibilities**
Walk the production lines, the warehouse, and the docks to monitor the department's status in preparation for the shift hand-off. Repeat throughout the shift, to check the status of:

- Adherence to production schedule. Collaborate with lead hand from prior shift, and print new schedules.
- Staging/Packaging - Print and review the current picklist.
- Doors/trailers - update 'door status board' throughout the shift.
- Submission of daily load plan spreadsheet - report.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies.

**Monitor, and provide the Supervisor with regular status updates on**:

- Production schedule and line status - changeovers, and any concerns that may impact production.
- Orders - Picklists / Packaging draws.
- Receivables - PO Due report status and open receipts.
- Cycle Counts - Cycle count sheets.
- Storage and put away (stocking) - Inbound loads.
- Servicing production - validate staged packaging/crackers - check pick list and schedule.
- Housekeeping.
- Safety - any outstanding or new safety concerns - documented incident reports.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Forklift License/Certificate from a recognized training organization
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a high-volume warehouse environment
- Experience working with Warehouse RFS (Radio Frequency Scanner) an asset
- Experience working with SAP is considered an asset.
