Student Grounds Person Langley Golf Course

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic **Student Grounds Person** to join our Turfcare Team at the Redwoods Golf Course in Langley. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in landscape maintenance and golf course upkeep.

The Student Grounds Person is an entry-level position that plays a key role in maintaining the beauty and playability of the golf course. Previous experience on a golf course grounds crew is not necessary but is a definite asset. This is a **full-time, seasonal position from June to September **and is perfect for an eager High School student looking for outdoor work experience

Becoming a **Student Grounds Crew Member** provides the opportunity to work outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine throughout the summer with most shifts ending around 2:00pm. Shifts are primarily Monday - Friday but some weekend shifts may be required throughout the season.

**Must be able to reliably report to work as early as 5:00 AM**

**Duties Include**:

- Operating groundskeeping equipment and power tools including string trimmers, backpack blowers, hand tools, push mowers and entry-level ride-on mowers
- Performing mowing duties associated with daily golf course and property maintenance
- Performing other duties associated with daily golf course and property maintenance such as brush and debris removal
- Assisting in the golf course setup for daily play such as filling divots on tees and fairways
- Raking, grooming and maintaining bunkers
- Assisting in weed removal and management
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications & Assets**
- Must hold a valid BC Driver's License
- Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Experience on a golf course maintenance team or in a related field is an asset
- Having a strong knowledge of golf and/or the ability to play the game is an asset
- Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
- Valid First Aid Level 1, CPR and AED Certification, or equivalent will be required to be maintained during employment
