Payroll Specialist

**Job summary: ENGLISH**
We are looking for a **Payroll Specialist **that will be responsible for performing payroll processing activities, as well as benefits administration for all payroll groups in Canada. Performing a variety of related duties, including but not limited to the following:
**Responsibilities**:
- Check preprocessor for errors and warnings
- Calculate adjustments to previous payrolls
- Make corrections or adjustments to pre-processed payroll data
- Make arbitrary payments of one-off or other premiums
- Set up the necessary earnings and deductions based on the particularities of each employee
- Export from the preprocessor and import various files into the payroll system
- Check details before checking and submitting final payroll
- Out-of-cycle payroll
- ACH reversal and stop payment requests
- Scanning and filing documents
- Process garnishments
- Modify information, such as direct deposit, deductions, address or other personal information in the employee's file in the appropriate systems.
- Prepare various weekly/monthly/annual management reports (e.g. vacation tracking, overtime, etc.).
- Train employees in payroll and benefits systems
- Contribute to other tasks not specifically mentioned above, in order to achieve team and company objectives.
**Qualifications**:

**Training and/or experience**:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll management is required. A Certificate issued by an institution of higher education or technical school is also required, unless an equivalent combination of education and/or experience is available.
Good knowledge of the laws prescribed in the various Canadian provinces, as well as knowledge of software such as UKG, SAP, Clockify are highly considered assets.
**Language skills**:
Excellent command of French and English, written and spoken, to serve all employees in Canada. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to suppliers or employees of the organization.
**Mathematical skills**:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal numbers. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, allowances and percentages. Has the skills to make and interpret diagrams and design graphical reports.
**Physical requirements**:
The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this position. In the performance of his duties, the employee must regularly speak and hear. Occasional standing, walking, sitting and hand use are required for computer work and document handling. Specific visual abilities required for this position include near vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. He must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
