Help Desk Support

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the help desk support logs, investigates and resolves front line user technical problems.
**Qualifications**:
- Equivalent to Community Collegediploma in a computer studies.
- Over six (6) months of previous experience in a related field or equivalent education/courses.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems, networking and peripherals in multi-use LAN/WAN environments. Sound knowledge of call ticketing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills to meet rigid deadlines.
- High level of initiative, independent judgement and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Handle sensitive and confidential material with discretion and ensure protection of information.
**Position Responsibilities**:
1. Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew.
3. Maintains help desk operations and ensures all support calls are logged in the call logging system.
4. Escalates technical problems to the Technician, Systems Analyst, Network Administrator and Manager where appropriate.
5. Liaise with suppliers and service representatives to maintain proper inventory of materials and access to services.
6. Ensures the security and confidentiality of records and personal information under the control of the Corporation of the County of Renfrew.
7. Delivers end-user support and training as required on an individual basis and through scheduled corporate IT training sessions.
8. Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Pay: $32.03-$36.05 per hour
