Position: Customs Rater

We’re looking for an individual that is well rounded, enjoys keeping busy and is open to helping wherever needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the customs brokerage industry.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) that is in good standing.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Customs Tariff, Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, regulations, release initiatives, ACROSS/IID systems and ocean release processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of Trade Agreements.
- Experience with all modes of transportation, but ocean expertise is preferred.
- Experience with exporting would be a definite asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for all aspects of the brokerage cycle, from creating the shipments, following up with customer, to billing the client for the brokerage services.
- Analyze shipment documentation to ensure it is complete and correct.
- Provide quality control over product databases, determining correct tariff classification, tariff treatment and ensuring all details are accurate.
- Answer communications and provide assistance to customers, drivers, Customs and/or other staff.
- After hours support may be required.

Communicate with government agencies to ensure compliance and advise clients on regulations. Keep track and follow-up on dated entries.
- New account setup and onboarding. Other Requirements
- Attention to detail and accuracy is an absolute must.

Must be a self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high quality work. Works well with people but also can work individually.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Well organized and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills.
- Export experience is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
