Position: Customs Rater

We’re looking for an individual that is well rounded, enjoys keeping busy and is open to helping wherever needed.

**Qualifications**:
▪ Minimum 3 years’ experience in the customs brokerage industry.

▪ Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) that is in good standing.

▪ Post-secondary education or equivalent.

▪ Strong knowledge of Customs Tariff, Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, regulations, release initiatives, ACROSS/IID systems and ocean release processes.

▪ Knowledge and understanding of Trade Agreements.

▪ Experience with all modes of transportation, but ocean expertise is preferred.

▪ Experience with exporting would be a definite asset.

**Responsibilities**:
▪ Responsible for all aspects of the brokerage cycle, from creating the shipments, following up with customer, to billing the client for the brokerage services.

▪ Analyze shipment documentation to ensure it is complete and correct.

▪ Provide quality control over product databases, determining correct tariff classification, tariff treatment and ensuring all details are accurate.

▪ Answer communications and provide assistance to customers, drivers, Customs and/or other staff.

▪ After hours support may be required.

▪ Communicate with government agencies to ensure compliance and advise clients on regulations. ▪ Keep track and follow-up on dated entries.

▪ New account setup and onboarding. Other Requirements

▪ Attention to detail and accuracy is an absolute must.

▪ Must be a self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high quality work. ▪ Works well with people but also can work individually.

▪ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

▪ Well organized and able to work with mínimal supervision.

▪ Strong computer skills.

▪ Export experience is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
