The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 is a dynamic, progressive trade union representing over 12,000 public transit workers in Toronto. Our members have been serving Toronto for 125 years.

We are seeking an energetic, reliable, customer-service-driven individual to join our team and assist our Local in supporting the day-to-day activities and operations of the organization.

Under the supervision of the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the key responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

- Acting as the first point of contact for our members, the Administrative Assistant plays an important role in the representation of our union with our members. This involves greeting members, building relationships, and assisting members with their questions in a friendly and professional manner.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
- Preparing packages and arranging courier services.
- Ability to assist in maintaining our website information and serve as the primary contact for inquiries that originate from the website.
- Post union news, updates, and events on our social media platforms, including X, Instagram, Facebook, and wemovetoronto.ca.
- Update phone, mailing, and distribution lists.
- Order and stock the office and kitchen(s) as needed.
- Assist in scheduling the maintenance or repair of office equipment as required.
- Other assignments within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as reasonably requested from time to time by management.

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
- Three+ years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent time management and detail oriented
- Ability to thrive in social settings and contribute effectively in team environments.

- Frequent use of computer and telephone to perform job duties.
- Regularly required to sit and/or stand, and to move about the office as needed.
- Regular lifting and carrying up to twenty pounds (e.g. to move and/or retrieve binders, office supplies, kitchen supplies and refreshments, etc.)
- Stair climbing to access different levels of three-storey office building.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package with benefits and a pension plan.

- Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
- Weekend availability may be required, occasionally.
