Marketing Events and Sponsorship Specialist

**What’s the ask?**

Reporting to the Manager, Event Marketing the Marketing, Events, and Sponsorships Specialist is accountable for the planning, production, promotion, analyzing and implementation of Cowan Insurance Group events, for virtual, hybrid and in person events. This includes the calculation of the return on the investment.

The Specialist incorporates strong communication and listening skills to meet with event stakeholders to understand the event purpose and goals required to define the project scope and budget.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Project Plan, promote execute and evaluate events such as webinars, conferences, and seminars, while establishing documentation and process.
- Draft internal and external event communications and supervise the development and production of promotional materials and presentations ensuring delivery to stakeholders, venues, etc.
- Manage vendors, suppliers, and exhibitors.
- Liaise with IT team members to ensure technology requirements are met and support coverage is available
- Conduct rehearsals with stakeholders and technical staff as needed to ensure a successful event
- Source venues, obtain quotes and conduct site visits for in-person events
- Maintain regular touchpoints with the events team and stakeholders throughout the process, and curate detailed and accurate event records
- Produce reports detailing event success, including ROI, attendance, and other key metrics as applicable, highlighting any obstacles or opportunities encountered
- This role will evaluate sponsorship requests, coordinate Cowan presence at tradeshows, conferences, and other third-party industry events whether these are virtual or in person

**What does it take?**
- Post-Secondary School Diploma in Events Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field required
- 3 to 5 years of event coordination or management experience preferred
- 3 to 5 years of fundraising experience considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with social media platforms, including an understanding of the core audience for each
- CRM and marketing automation experience, HubSpot an asset
- Webinar platform and production experience required
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior people and relationship management skills
- Strong negotiating capabilities
- Ability to lift 20-25Lbs.
