**Job Summary**

The Assistant Controller is responsible to assist the Controller in the management and administration of the Finance department including the preparation, administration and monitoring of operating budgets, monthly accounting, financial planning and reporting.

**Key Areas of Responsibilities and Associated Duties**
- Provide support and direct supervision to the Finance Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and payroll.
- Complete month-end financial accounting duties in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the recruitment, training and performance evaluation of Finance personnel.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor accounts receivable including credit approval and delinquencies.
- Supervise and assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and preparing bank deposits.
- Supervise and assist in the development and maintenance of accounting files and records.
- Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts and prepare monthly accounting statements.
- Review payroll to ensure accuracy of information.
- Provide support in the development of business proposals.
- Keep abreast of federal, provincial and municipal developments, laws and policies that may affect the financial operations of the organization.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports on a regular schedule and as required.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end working paper files, tax worksheets and required adjustments.
- Recommend and implement system and process improvements that relate to financial activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Must possess CPA designation
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and analysis or other financial activities are required
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset

**Working Conditions & Physical Demands**
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- General office setting
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
