**Job Summary**

The Controller is responsible for the management and administration of the Finance department including the preparation, administration and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, monthly accounting, financial planning and reporting. The Controller establishes performance standards and prepares various financial reports for senior management.

**Key Areas of Responsibilities and Associated Duties**
- Provide support and supervision to the Finance Department.
- Ensure that all month-end financial accounting duties and all resulting financial reporting is complete in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate all activities within the Finance Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, payroll, financial planning and reporting.
- Recruit, train and complete performance evaluation of Finance personnel.
- Prepare and monitor annual forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor accounts receivable.
- Ensure bank reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain accounting files and records.
- Ensure business transactions, accruals and adjustments and recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide support in the development of business proposals.
- Keep abreast of federal, provincial and municipal developments, laws and policies that may affect the financial operations of the organization.
- Provide financial statements and reports on a regular schedule and as required.
- Prepare year-end working paper files including those required for tax purposes and processing required adjustments.
- Notify and report to senior management concerning any trends that are critical to the organization’s financial performance.
- Recommend and implement system and process improvements that relate to financial activities.
- Oversight of International Accountants within the finance team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Must possess CPA designation
- 7+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities are required
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset
- International accounting knowledge an asset
