**What you’ll do**
- As we embark on a bold new strategic plan, we are looking for a talented Philanthropy Assistant to join our incredible team. Reporting to and working in partnership with the Philanthropy team members, the Philanthropy Assistant will provide support for community fundraising events and programs across British Columbia, along with supporting the administration, planning and execution of initiatives within the Chinese and South-Asian Communities.
- More specifically this position will:

- Provide administrative support including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, submitting expense reports and maintaining department budget
- Provide support to Philanthropy team members in engaging corporate partners, by assisting in the preparation of confidential correspondence, formatting donor proposals, creating collateral materials, taking minutes and correspondence for meetings.
- Process donations in Raiser’s Edge and assist with the tax receipting process.
- Ensure that all information related to donor accounts is accurate and up to date in raiser’s Edge
- Provide administrative and logístical support to the planning of fundraising campaigns
- Track event expenditures and monitor budgets; process payments for vendor invoices
- Provide support to event volunteer committees when needed, including answering questions, organizing meetings, facilitating auction management and ensuring they have what they need to successfully perform their volunteer role
- Support volunteers; assist with the recruitment and training of volunteers and ensure volunteers have the information and support they need to perform their role

Your superb organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical to the role. You are patient, analytical, methodical and love to solve problems. You have a professional manner and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of people. This role requires
**oral fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin, **and written fluency in Chinese is considered an asset.
- In addition, you will bring:

- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to multitask diverse workloads and projects
- Proven ability to work successfully with event volunteers
- Familiarity with accounting as it relates to monitoring budgets and expenses
- A professional and outgoing manner and ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with a wide variety of people
- The ability to work within a team environment but also to work autonomously
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge 7 or other fundraising database is an asset
- The ability to speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently; written fluency in Chinese is considered an asset
- Education and Experience:

- Diploma or post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., business, fundraising, and administration)
- Two years’ experience working in events and/or administration; previous experience in a non-profit environment is an asset.
