Customer Service Associate

Plato’s Closet Kelowna is a locally-owned and operated franchise that buys and sells the latest styles for teenagers to young adults. Plato’s Closet is all about being fashion savvy and shopping smart. We’re a unique recycling retail store specializing in gently used clothing, footwear & accessories from petite to plus sizes at up to 70% off regular retail prices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Present a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Promote all aspects of the business including but not limited to buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising. Assist store management in daily operations of the store.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers immediately, determine their needs and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner
- Exhibit appropriate selling and buying procedures and effectively communicate to all customers our Buy Policy as well as our inventory needs
- Become familiar with products, brands, and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs
- Become certified in the buying process
- Price and tag all items based on pricing and buying guidelines. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures
- Develop proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc.
- Opportunity to advance to key holder position based on performance

QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 - 3 years customer service experience is essential
- Retail fashion experience is required
- Key holder experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team and take direction from supervisors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy (multi-tasking is essential)
- Basic math skills essential
- Sales and goal driven

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
- Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise
- Exposure to typical retail environment conditions and noise levels
