**Position Description**

The HR Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the HR department; the administration of the HR policies, procedures, and programs; carries out the responsibilities in the following areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits and compensation, organizational development, and employment. Oversees all aspects of Health and Safety and conducts the annual COR® audit.

**Duties and responsibilities**

Human Resources:

- Development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll, year-end, WSIB reporting.
- Full cycle recruitment for all areas of the organization.
- Review and update all job descriptions.
- Planning and monitoring employee job performance reviews.
- Source of guidance for employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Maintain employee benefits programs; makes recommendations to Management; directs and assists employees with claims; reviews program costs and evaluates contract bids.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
- Monitors legislative changes to keep the organization in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Health and Safety:

- Certified member of the JHSC and chairs meetings.
- Manage the organization’s Occupational Health and Safety Program, working with Senior Management.
- Ensures the organization is compliant with all the COR® requirements and maintains COR® status.
- Prepares all site-specific plans for installation projects and conducts site visits periodically.
- Conducts monthly health and safety talks with all Departments.
- Reviews and maintains hazard assessments, safe work practices/procedures; investigates all incidents and accidents; maintains database of workers and subcontractors background checks.
- Conducts internal audit yearly and submits findings through eCompliance.

**Qualifications**

Qualifications include:

- University Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a HR role along with Health and Safety duties.
- Strong organizational skills with a strong attention to detail, and business acumen.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality.
- Above average communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships quickly.
- CHRL or CRSP designation would be an asset.

**Working conditions**

Position requires traveling to jobsites periodically. Fast paced working environment.
