Full Cycle Bookkeeper

Our clients in Guelph & Cambridge are seeking Full Cycle Bookkeepers to join their teams. Both are not-for-profit organizations with competitive benefits packages. The Full Cycle Bookkeeper is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization and for maintaining detailed financial records and requires excitement for and enjoyment of numbers, financial acumen and experience with complex accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for day-to-day and month end accounting cycle, ensuring accurate general ledger coding for multiple funds and program reporting.
- Complete all bookkeeping tasks in Quickbooks including processing of all A/P, A/R, banking, credit cards, able, etc.
- Responsible for all payroll-related processing
- Manage and process government remittances and deductions (WSIB, EHT, HST, etc.)
- Prepare all required journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare all bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain petty cash and related reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial reporting as required
- Assist in the annual budgeting process as required
- Assist in orientation of all new employees as it applies to scheduling and payroll
- Filing and providing general administrative support
- Other duties assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Strong financial understanding and background in accounting, bookkeeping and related financial administration required
- Experience in working with multiple funders and recording transactions to various classes
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced office environment
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work within deadlines
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping abilities
- Excellent people and communication skills, authenticity, interest in equity and inclusiveness and creating internal capacity and processes that reflect these values
- Ability to solve problems creatively and to handle emergencies in a capable manner
- For the position in Cambridge:
- Degree in accounting, commerce or similar area of financial management required
- CPA designation or working towards a designation an asset
- Proficiency with Quickbooks, Excel and Outlook
- For the position in Guelph:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Administration
- Three to five years full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Valid Drivers License and Reliable Vehicle
- Experience with Quickbooks, Dayforce, Powerpay and BambooHR an asset
