**Summary**

The Translator is responsible for providing high quality translations of both technical and non-technical materials, from English to French for all CFPC print and online communications. The Translator is responsible for efficient and time-sensitive delivery of quality translation services that are reflective of CFPC translation standards.

**Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- **Essential Duties**
- Maintains the translation memory banks, with direction, to maximize the use of Logiterm, and the terminology database.
- Performs terminology research required for translating documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provides high-quality translations of urgent, complex, important documents.
- Proofreads content to ensure correctness of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Follows College-specific French language glossaries and style guides.
- **Related Duties**
- Ensure effective and professional communications with all internal/external contacts.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Work in accordance with all CFPC policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable legislation.
- Work in accordance with all health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the CFPC Values.
- Demonstrate competencies aligned with the CFPC Competency Framework.
- Contribute to delivering on the overall work plan of the department and strategic goals of the CFPC.
- Participate on special projects as required.
- Participate on internal staff committees or working groups as required.
- Assist with the onboarding of new team members as required.
- Support the team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure department needs are met including absence coverage and cross-training as required.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Translation.
- 3 years of experience as a translator.
- 3 years of experience of computer-aided translation solutions (i.e., Logiterm), preferred.
- Certified Translator with the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO), or an equivalent professional certifying organization, preferred.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and opinions clearly and effectively in English.

- Basic InCopy editing software, Computer-Aided translation solutions, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to meet deadlines, balance multiple demands and priorities, work under pressure and work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Advanced attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.

**Working Conditions**
