**How you will make contributions that matter**:
As a Labour Relations / Human Resources Specialist, you will:

- **Labour Relations**: Foster trust between management, supervisors, and the union while taking proactive measures to mitigate concerns prior to formal grievances.
- **Grievance Handling**: Investigate and address grievances and complaints in accordance with collective agreements.
- **Collective Agreement Administration**: Administer collective agreements and provide preparation support and guidance during collective bargaining sessions.
- **Corrective Action Consultation**: Offer advice on corrective actions, taking steps to standardize and react to issues with appropriate leadership.
- **Attendance Management**: Monitor attendance, issue disciplinary actions when necessary, and track results
- **Recruitment**: Support recruitment efforts, conduct interviews, and facilitate new hire orientations.
- **Layoff & Recalls**: Organize layoffs and associated bumping, maintaining records for recall eligibility.
- **HR Generalist Activities**: Support employee relations issues, talent management processes, training needs, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- **SAP Management**: Update employee records and prepare reports as required.
- **General**: Assist with records management, communications, and supervisor training.

**You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications**:

- University degree and/or Human Resources Management Diploma complemented by Industrial Relations experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in labour relations procedures in an industrial/manufacturing environment with 5+ years providing HR Generalist support.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation and BWXT Canada policies and procedure.
- In-depth knowledge of the USWA collective Agreement.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar HRIS software is preferred.
