**Summary**

**Preferred Skills**:

- Basic knowledge of Mechanical commodities (Sheet metal, plastics, castings etc)
- Ability to read Mechanical Drawings
- Team player
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) Knowledge in Visual Basic an asset
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced workplace
- Ability to work effectively and independently
- Excellent report writing and problem solving skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required
- Interest / knowledge in manufacturing, procurement and electronics industry

**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:

- Analyze Mechanical drawings
- Classify parts into various commodities (ie sheet metal, plastics, castings etc)
- Analyze Vendors' manufacturing capabilities
- Perform First Article Quality Analysis
- Review Vendor Root Cause and Corrective Actions for effectiveness
- Prepare and analyze quote packages and recommend vendors based on cost and technical merit
- Prepare quote tenders for supplier negotiation
- Monitor and maintain purchasing parameters within SAP to ensure proper execution
- Compile, analyze and report on commitments, data trends and performance metrics
- Perform data analytics
- Facilitate requests between supply chain buying teams and Commodity Management
- Work with external suppliers on supply chain business requirements
- Research and compile market trends
- Interact with colleagues and suppliers globally

**Physical Demands**:

- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
