**Job Summary**: The Halton Agricultural Society is currently seeking a part-time Event Coordinator at the Milton
Fairgrounds. The Milton Fairgrounds consists of 26 acres in the heart of downtown Milton, Ontario, with six (6) buildings, outdoor washroom facilities, grandstands, and an outdoor horse arena and track that are booked for community events throughout the year.

The Event Coordinator is required to be adept at administrative tasks, as well as act as an on-site liaison with the client while events are taking place at the Fairgrounds. This position will work with the Secretary and the Board of Directors to arrange rentals and will actively pursue potential new business opportunities.

**Job Functions / Areas of Responsibility**
- Coordinate all space rentals at the Fairgrounds.
- Work alongside the Halton Agricultural Society (HAS) Secretary in the execution of all rentals and events.
- On site for the execution of rentals and events.
- Deal with rental groups, addressing concerns and complaints.
- Work with the HAS Secretary to promote the Fairgrounds.
- Identify low-usage periods and formulate strategies to increase rentals during these periods.
- Keep accurate and easily accessible records of rentals, including relevant customer information.
- Liaise with operations and other appropriate departments to ensure the smooth delivery of bookings.
- Ensure facilities are kept clean, tidy, and stocked with supplies.
- Attend HAS board-run events, such as the Milton Fall Fair, Santa at the Fairgrounds, and Canada Day.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma (or other related disciplines combined with experience) from a recognized university or college in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of social media platforms.
- Previous experience in a bookings or events capacity preferred.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
