**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Western Forest Products is hiring for a **HR Administrative Assistant** to join our Human Resources team in **Nanaimo **or** Vancouver, BC.**

Reporting to Senior Manager, Talent and Rewards, the HR Coordinator will gain a full overview of the HR function through processes, projects, and experience working amongst a fast paced and services oriented team.

**What We Offer**:

- Salary range of **$50,000 - $58,000** based on skill level, qualifications, and experience

**Work Environment**: This position can be based either out of our Nanaimo or Vancouver with occasional travel to our operations on Vancouver Island as required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supports general HR administration for the HR Operations team;
- Administers and processes employment status changes and the creation of various documents including employee status change letters and employee verification checks;
- Liaises with payroll to ensure all pay related issues and processes are clear and efficient;
- Maintains critical employment records and documents in HRIS including liaising with payroll to ensure all data field updates, HR data entry and organization of employee files, maintaining integrity through process, reporting and governance;
- Administers disability and leave management, including employee support, tracking and form completion;
- Develops and maintains general employee communication through various channels and internal partners;
- Supports the Operations team with employee relations related documentation;
- Coordinates employee onboarding for salaried new hires, including background checks, and supports offboarding for salaried exiting employees;
- Conducts exit interviews and reports findings to HR Operations team;
- Champion the employee experience by providing consistent, helpful and on-going support to end users (management self-service and employee self-service) by maintaining our HR team inbox and escalating matters to the relevant HR team members as needed;
- Supports the department with reporting needs, such as headcount reporting and analytics;
- Complete vendor setup requests for the department;
- Provide support on various HR initiatives as needed;
- Expense report support for HR Leaders;
- Provide coverage to other coordinator positions;
- Other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field considered an asset;
- 1-2 years of proven and successful experience in HR Administration.

- Self-starter with a strong attention to detail, high accuracy and dedication to delivering high quality work on time;

- Superior skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook;
