We are looking for an experienced Catering & Events Coordinator to join our team to oversee our expanding catering department. We don’t just offer catering, we offer full-service event coordination for our clients for everything ranging from intimate family dinners to boutique parties and upscale corporate events. We are offering a base salary based on experience plus commission on sales and events you bring in.

You love making a client’s visions come to life and can manage an event from first point of contact through to the thank you note at the end. You have a flexible mind and thrive in a fast paced, often changing environment that pays off when everything comes together at the end. You strive to provide services that surprises and delights clients and think of ways to make them feel valued through the entire process. When a problem arises you are a problem solver, coming up with creative solutions to work around obstacles.
**Qualifications**:
- At least 3 years experience working in events planning; catering experience is necessary
- Flexible with your schedule - many events occur on evenings and weekends
- Time management is a must; being able to prioritize workflow and work within tight turnaround times
- Work well under pressure
- Adaptable to changes in client needs
- Maintaining a personable, professional, and positive attitude with staff and clients
- You must hold a valid BC’s driver’s license
- Self motivated and very organized
**Job Duties will include, but are not limited to**:
- First point of contact for all event and catering enquiries
- Following up with potential clients as well
- Identifying and seeking out catering opportunities on our behalf
- Coordinate and manage staff throughout events
- Manage multiple events in various stages of execution
- Generate and update Banquet Event Orders. Client profiles
- Manage contracts, budgets and invoicing for clients, take payments
- Pick up supplies and rentals for events; coordinate delivery of same
- Liaise with vendors, photographers, contractors, staff, and suppliers during the planning process to ensure the event runs smoothly
- Manage set up and tear down of events
- Assess the success of an event and follow up with clients after; prepare reports with recommendations.
