As Western Canada's leading venue for live events, we host a year-round schedule of sporting events, concerts, consumer shows and more each year while also supporting the community through an array of ongoing partnerships and initiatives.
BC Place is hiring a Team Central & Scheduling Coordinator to join the Event Services Team. The Team Central & Scheduling Coordinator collaborates with department leaders in Security, First Aid, Environmental Services, Events and Operations to schedule up to 800 staff members. From film shoots, trade shows, sporting matches and concerts, this position schedules all operational and front of house staff to events that take place at BC Place Stadium. This role ensures staffing needs are met and staff are effectively scheduled supporting employee engagement and ensuring the process and systems are utilized in support of the Company goals and objectives.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Team Central & Scheduling, this role also supports Team Central administratively and helps to coordinate event day operations for uniform, radio and resource distribution to all event staff.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Scheduling administration of event and full-time staff utilizing the event business management system Momentus (previously known as EBMS/Ungerboeck), Dayforce and ABI;
- Audit and process timesheets for event and full-time staff;
- Work with department managers to coordinate staffing levels required for each event;
- Ensure scheduling is completed in compliance to the Collective Agreement;
- Work with internal stakeholders in creating communications to all staff regarding events;
- Adjust schedules based on operational changes and demands;
- Meet with Operations and Events Teams to forecast schedules based on event timelines;
- Answer staff inquiries regarding scheduling concerns and time off requests;
- Process leaves of absences and employee changes in General Availability;
- Participate and support in developing tactical, short term and long term projects;
- Work within and collaboratively with all Team Central staff;
- Maintain and update scheduling policies and procedures;
- Other duties as required.
**WHAT YOU BRING**:
- Minimum Grade 12 education, with some post-secondary education in business and/or office administration preferred;
- Experience in a similar role, preferable in a unionized environment;
- Experience leading a team, supervising unionized staff an asset;
- Experience using ABI, Momentus (previously known as EBMS/Ungerboeck) and Dayforce, or a similar scheduling program an asset;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently;
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and deadlines by internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time;
- High level of analytical and interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication;
- Proven ability to work well under pressure;
- Proven ability to work with a diverse team;
- Able and willing to work some varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of the events;
- Driven by service excellence.
The salary range for this position is $51,393 - $64,241
- Salary discussion and overall compensation package will be presented during initial phone interviews.
