We are seeking a full-time **Resident Care Manager** (1-year term) to join our team of professional, qualified leaders. The possibility of an extension or a permanent position exists at the end of the term.
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director of Resident Care, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and competent delivery of resident care and for the management of resident care services and personnel within their assigned unit(s).
**Qualifications / Education / Experience**
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
- At least five years' experience in a clinical setting, three of which should have involved management.
- Proven experience in forming partnerships with residents, families, employees, and others in shared decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Solid computer literacy skills with proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to problem-solve independently in pressure situations.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, as well as part of the management and health care teams.
- Ability to make independent decisions as it relates to their respective area of responsibility.
- Ability to plan, organize, manage, and control services within their area of responsibility.
- Knowledge of human resource management and scheduling in a 24/7 unionized environment.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to respect confidentiality of personnel and resident information.
- Committed to continuous learning, seeks out best practice and opportunities for self-development.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours if required.
**Salary and Benefits**
Saint Vincent's offers a competitive compensation package including a medical and dental plan, group life, long term disability, free parking, flexible scheduling, lieu time, and generous vacation and holiday allocation. Salary range for this position is $86,195 to $93,308 and is commensurate with qualifications and previous experience.
