**Position Summary**

The Research and Data Coordinator is responsible for conceptualizing, researching, gathering & assembling information. Responsible for researching various policies regarding Housing and Infrastructure, providing data and details for media statements, and drafting research documents and recommendations for an effective First Nations decision-making process related to Housing and Infrastructure for First Nations in Manitoba.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct research and data and provide supporting information for briefing notes, reports, and other written materials for internal and external audiences.
- Conduct research and data needed to develop media statements.
- Create various statistics, data, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations pertinent to the various projects and research tasks.
- Ability to retrieve information and data through outside sources, such as the “Freedom of Information Act” or the archives.
- Stay current with the various Housing and Infrastructure issues specific to First Nations.
- Provide support with the research and data collection for different areas of housing specific to First Nations.
- Research policy and governance functions of Housing in First Nations.
- Conducted statistical research and prepared draft presentations.
- Basic data analysis and summary preparations.
- Support the success of work plans, tasking, and setting benchmarks by management.
- Draft higher-level presentations when needed and specific to strategies, discussion papers, and position papers.
- Adhere to office policies and procedures and confidentiality.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.

**Qualifications, Education & Experience**
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Education, Communications, or related fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrates data management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and organization skills.
- Knowledge of First Nation’s policies and political issues in Housing and Infrastructure would be an asset.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and dependable.
- Ability to work closely with others, independently or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
- Ability to follow office procedures, practices, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Adhere to AMC policies and procedures with specific attention to attendance and professional ethics.
- Possess a valid Class 5F Driver’s License, work flexible hours, and travel upon request.
- A satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check are required.
