**The opportunity**:
The Supporting Older Adult Healthcare Reform through Research (SOARR) program is currently hiring for a full-time Research Coordinator (RC) for a one-year term with possibility of extension. The RC will work across several SOARR research projects with their responsibilities split across two primary roles: 1) Study evaluation and 2) Publication support.

1) Study Evaluation (Collection & Analysis)

The RC will take a lead role in coordinating and implementing evaluation plans of key SOARR initiatives. In coming months this will primarily focus on the SHIFT quality improvement intervention. The RC will be required to have a strong understanding of all aspects of the evaluation plan (i.e. theory & existing knowledge, links to study research questions and operations, when and how tools are used, etc.). They will be the expert on the team regarding data being collected and will inform the research team of any anticipated challenges, concerns, or suggestions for improvement. They will ensure data is being collected as intended and will lead /actively participate in this process. They will attend key sessions throughout the intervention and collect qualitative data such as field notes and observations, and will lead activities such as focus groups and interviews. They will input and clean data (e.g. from surveys, focus groups, interviews, etc.), and arrange for transcription as needed. They will use their expertise in qualitative research approaches to analyze data for the project using analysis software (e.g. NVIVO) as needed. This may involve using a mixed method approach to assess participating quality improvement teams/participants on factors such a “leadership” and “readiness for change” in order to answer key research questions. Throughout data collection and analysis the RC will keep the research team apprised of progress and receive input on how to best move forward. The RC is expected to meet iteratively with researcher, healthcare stakeholder, and staff/programming team members, to ensure that data analysis plans are prepared rigorously and are clearly understood by all team members. They will be responsible for summarizing data in clear formats such as tables and figures for use in publications and reports. They will ensure that evaluation plans are moving according to projected timelines, and that ethical and standard operating procedures are being followed. They will be responsible for documenting study methods, definitions, and decisions made. For future projects the RC will be tasked with leading the development of evaluation plans from initial concept through to completion of the project. This will require critically assessing existing scientific knowledge to inform best practice, operational processes, and development of data collection tools.

2) Publication Support

The RC will be expected to extract, critically interrogate, and evaluate scientific literature/evidence to develop strong working knowledge (e.g., suffice to help produce publications) in topic areas across a number of projects in the SOARR program. They will use this knowledge to play a lead role in supporting all team members to plan and enact study activities (e.g. development of data collection tools and processes; framing and planning all publications, etc.). The RC will be expected to continually keep an eye on research needs across the projects. This includes assisting with publication development (e.g., identifying potential publication opportunities, reviewing existing topic-specific literature to determine the best approaches for publications, identifying potential journals to submit to, and summarizing the requirements of said journals). In many cases this individual will assist with the editing, refinement, and writing of academic manuscripts. They will work iteratively with the various co-author teams to ensure alignment between the academic literature, operations of the studies, and expectations of key stakeholders, in order to ensure publications move forward in a clear, timely manner.

3) Misc. Project Support
