**Overview**
As the Human Resources Manager, reporting into the CFO, you will lead the people agenda in partnership with the HR Committee. You will develop the capabilities of the people team, while supporting the business to lead future growth. You will provide guidance on various aspects of employment law, employee & labour relations, policy interpretation and performance management processes. You will be a coach and mentor to your team as well as to dealerships’ controllers and managers.
This position balances driving consistent HR processes with strategically building organizational capability and culture to increase the overall employee experience.
As the first HR Manager with the company, you will be responsible for building HR infrastructure to meet the ongoing needs and increasingly competitive HR landscape as the organization continues to expand.
**Essential Job Functions**
I. HR Management Responsibilities
- Oversee the full suite of HR functions and day-to-day activities, providing overall leadership and guidance, human resources initiatives and implementing policies and programs.
- Function as a strategic human resources advisor to senior leadership team.
- Initiate, execute and oversee HR projects and strategy that align with Company goals and HR best practices.
- Oversee and drive company culture, engagement and employer branding initiatives and build strategies that continue to grow our culture.
- Provide advice on HR best practices and market trends that align with the business and culture.
- Ensure company-wide HR legislative, labour law and health & safety compliance and mitigate risk.
II. Recruitment and Selection
- Draft and implement Hiring Guidelines to be used by all dealerships.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions as required.
- Build pipeline of talent, and maintain applicant information in HR database.
III. Onboarding
- Prepare new employees for their position by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Assist with onboarding activities for new employees, which will include orientation to the business, orientation to the individual dealership, and department.
- Prepare new employee files ensuring all required documentation has been received prior to the employee’s first day.
IV. Performance Management
- Develop and coordinate a standardized performance management system.
- Maintain overall efficiency by providing support to the team in the maintenance, administration and communication of policies, procedures and initiatives.
V. Labour Relations
- Manage employee relations issues, including performance improvement plans, investigations, progressive discipline, and terminations
- Provide HR advice and support to managers on escalated matters and ensure consistency across the organization, as applicable, while mitigating risk
VI. Compensation & Benefits
- Responsible for performing job evaluations, and compensation reviews.
- Oversee and manage group benefit programs, including but not limited to, plan designs and renewals
**Qualifications and Skills**
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
- At least 7 years of work experience in a senior human resources role, with at least 2 years managing a team
- CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of Employment Legislation in Canada and related laws and regulations
- Strategic partner and a key business driver
- Strong consulting and influencing skills; ability to challenge the status quo
- A high level of professionalism and integrity
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
- Relationship-oriented with solid interpersonal skills; must work effectively with internal and external personnel
- Resourceful, forward-thinking and collaborative with a strong sense of team spirit
- A hands-on self-starter who is motivated and dedicated
- Accountable, takes initiative and ownership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
