**The Role**:
The **Guest Services Associate** is the first and last point of contact for visitors to the Britannia Mine Museum, setting the tone for the full visitor experience. This position assists guests with admissions, purchases (in both the retail store and the café), answering questions and hearing feedback.

**You** are a customer service superstar**; friendly, welcoming, and able to both learn and use our systems and software.

**Important Information**:

- Starting wage $17.00-$19.00 (based on experience)
- Permanent employees regularly working 37+ hours/week have access to a competitive benefits plan after 3 months of employment.
- Schedules include one or more weekend days as well as stat holidays, as these are our busiest times.
- All employees must complete a Criminal Record Check, in accordance with the Museum’s Child and Vulnerable People Code of Conduct.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Telling the story of the Museum and the history of mining in BC
- Learning and sharing the history of Britannia Beach
- Processing admissions and payments for visitors and tour groups
- Assisting customers with merchandise and purchases in the Company Store (retail)
- Responding to visitor inquiries to the Museum’s customer service standard.
- Serving customers in the Café including processing payments, cleaning and bussing duties, making food & beverages.
- Following all applicable safe food handling procedures.
- Performing opening and closing duties of the retail store, admissions areas and/or café.
- Day-to-day duties include: accurate and timely stock counts; out-of-stock position and creating purchase orders and daily re-stocking.

**Your knowledge, skills and abilities include**:

- Friendly, outgoing, and approachable able to communicate effectively and respectfully
- Basic computer and math skills and some experience with POS and Debit/Credit systems an asset;
- Able to learn and use databases and software related to delivery of guest services and processing of reservations and purchases
- Able to handle cash and reconciliation
- Sales-Service oriented; providing a value-added experience to guests.
- Able to effectively resolve customer challenges or complaints.
- Shows initiative and notices what needs doing.
- Able to multi-task and respond to inquiries effectively in a fast-paced and open (and at times, loud) environment.
- A team player who can work effectively to problem solve and brainstorm with others
- Job Requirements/Qualifications:

- Willing to complete a Criminal Record Check, as per the Museum’s policies.
- Willing to take FoodSafe Level 1 (as required)
- Bondable
- Recommended Training:
- FOODSAFE Level 1 by Distance Education
- Salary/Wage: $17 to $19 per hour (based on experience)
