The **Seasonal Grounds Assistant**is part of the Maintenance team which is responsible for keeping the Museum site and its buildings maintained, safe, clean and tidy, and open for business. This role works closely with the full BMM team and will report to the Supervisor of Maintenance & Construction, to perform ongoing site clean throughout the busy season.

**You are**hardworking and interested in beginning your career in facility and grounds maintenance. You are energetic and enjoy being busy on the job. You learn quickly and have an eye for detail.

You are looking for a fun place to work (mainly outside).

**Other Details**
- Must be able to lift 35kg/77lbs.
- This position runs from the beginning of May to the end of August

**What does success look like?**

Success is measured by the documented and observed high standard of site maintenance and safety. This role supports the Museum to meet compliance with maintenance and safety standards as set out by the BC Mines Act, WorkSafeBC, WHMIS and associated standards and codes. Success will be measured through guest impressions and comments on the overall state of cleanliness and attractiveness of the site.

**Key Responsibilities (Summary)**
- Perform daily inspections of the site and its assets for maintenance and safety purposes
- Complete building cleaning tasks as directed by the Maintenance Technician Supervisor
- Custodial Duties and other duties as assigned
- Assist with site event preparation and execution
- Assist with exhibit construction projects
- Document work as appropriate/required

**Qualifications**
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Must be willing to submit a Criminal Record Check
- Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation to and from all shifts as there is no public transportation
