**Position Title: Finance Coordinator, Accounts Payable**
**About Us**
Initiatives for Just Communities (IJC) is a non-profit, charitable organization that operates four community justice programs: El'dad Ranch, Touchstone, Open Circle, and CoSA. These programs support people with intellectual disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and those who are currently, or have been previously, incarcerated. **The Position**
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Coordinator, Accounts Payable is responsible for the timely and accurate payments to suppliers for goods and services acquired for IJC and for providing information about payables and payments for reporting purposes. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining financial records.
**What you will do**
- Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems.
- Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in a ledger or computer system.
- Compile budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
- Prepare period or cost statements or reports.
- Calculate costs of materials, overhead and other expenses based on estimates, quotations, and price lists.
- Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations, and solve problems.
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Participate on the purchasing committee.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
**Assets**
- Three years or more years of experience and of post-secondary education in a related accounting field, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education in work experience.
**Position Details**:
- Full-Time - 75 hours bi-weekly
- Mondays to Friday
- Day Shifts: 8:30 am until 4:30pm (flexible)
- Hourly wage between $21.30-23.97
- There will be a three-month probationary period based on accumulated FTE.
