Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team at Maar's Burger Bar. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. **Duties**:

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and preparing sauces
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to prevent foodborne illnesses
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service
- Assist with inventory management

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices (Food Safe Certification)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

**Skills**:

- Proficient in various kitchen tasks, including cooking, chopping, and food preparation
- Knowledge of different cooking techniques and methods
- Understanding of proper food handling procedures and safety guidelines (Food Safe Certification)
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: From $17.40 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week

Licence/Certification:

- FOODSAFE Certification (preferred)
