**About the Role**
- Assistant Cook _
- Varying start dates available in May and June, applicants must be available until Labour Day Weekend_
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Chef and Sous Chef with daily preparation service of menu items for guest and staff breakfast, lunch and dinner meal services as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Sous Chef in steam table service for breakfast, lunch and dinner service daily
- Prepare, cook and set up breakfast items for breakfast service daily
- Ensure vegetable items are prepared as per daily menu needs
- Clean the kitchen after meals as instructed by the Chef
- Stock the kitchen as required including putting away deliveries
- Accommodate dishes for guest’s with food allergies and intolerances
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, fridges and storage areas
- Prepare and cook barbeque items in the summer months daily
- Promote and adhere to safe food preparation and handling
- All pertinent duties as required
**Specifications**:
- Valid food handlers certificate an asset
- Culinary experience an asset
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Available to work split shifts (Approx 7:30-1:30 and 4:30-8:00), weekends and holidays
**Working Conditions**:
- Standing for the duration of your shift
- Withstand heat within the kitchen
