Hardware Deployment Specialist

**General Summary**
The Hardware Deployment Specialist is responsible for preparing, configuring, and deploying computers and related hardware for our clients. This role involves ensuring that all hardware is set up correctly and meets the clients' specifications, providing high-quality technical support, and maintaining detailed records of all activities. A strong Hardware Deployment Specialist is a good communicator and should be prompt and/or know the importance of communicating ETA’s to clients. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed procedures.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Assemble and configure computers, including installing and configuring hardware
components such as memory, processors, and hard drives.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting to ensure all components function
correctly.
- Coordinate with clients to schedule deployment times and gather specific requirements.
- Transport and set up computers and related hardware at client sites.
- Ensure all systems are fully operational and meet client specifications before final
handover.
- Provide on-site technical support during the initial deployment phase.
- Offer remote and on-site support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
- Assist clients with the setup and configuration of peripheral devices such as printers,
scanners, and monitors.
- Maintain detailed records of hardware inventory, configurations, and deployment
schedules.
- Document all troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the support ticketing system.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Service Manager regarding deployment
status and any issues encountered.
- Perform routine maintenance on computer systems and hardware.
- Assist with the planning and execution of hardware upgrades and replacements.
- Communicate effectively while demonstrating interpersonal skills: such as telephony,
active listening and customer-care while providing support
- Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Skycomp’s core values
- Submittal of time for all work performed throughout the day. All time must be accounted
for.
- Familiarize yourself with all Skycomp tools to effectively perform your job
responsibilities. The tools include but are not limited to the following: Backup
Security Services
- Employ strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude.
- Participate and engage in company and assigned team meetings.
- Communication with clients as required: keeping them informed of incident progress,
notifying them of impending changes, and agreed upon outages.
- Travel to and from client sites
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license & automobile insurance
- Must be physically able to rack and move equipment
- After hours support as required
**Expected Results**
Through proper execution of the above stated job responsibilities, Hardware Deployment Specialists will learn the Skycomp way and tools, providing a platform from which to propel them to greater job roles and technical competencies.
**Credentials and Experience**
- Post-Secondary related degree (ex. Computer Systems Technology)
