Acknowledging both local protocols and the diversity of ways of knowing and being our staff bring to the Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement, we: - Honour and respect the peoples on whose territory the university stands; - Support Indigenous students, faculty and staff wellness and success in all our diversity; - Support the advancement of Indigenous academic programming; - Support communities and lead the university in enhancing engagement and relationships; and - Guide the university in processes and projects of decolonization and reconciliation. **The salary range for this position is**: - **Recruitment range: $75,755 - $83,525 starting salary** determined by the PEA Collective Agreement. - **Performance range: $98,528**salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases. - **Indigenous Peoples** - Job Summary **Mandate**: An Administrative Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the faculty and/or department functions efficiently and effectively by managing administrative processes and procedures, coordinating with other campus and community partners as needed. The AO works closely with the Executive Director and Associate Directors to develop and manage procedures; coordinate processes and communications with other departments; and provide expertise in the day-to-day operations of the unit. **Objectives**: - Improve current processes and optimize procedures to ensure IACE operates smoothly and effectively. - Assists in the coordination of financial activities within the department, including budget analysis, forecasts, and preparation of information on administrative costs. - Leads the completion of various administration processes related to financial, administrative and human resource processes - Coordinates all human resources related activities in IACE, including on/off boarding and leave management initiatives. - Oversee office operations and planning, financial management and assistance to the Executive Director and leadership team. - Support IACE leadership team to meet long-term planning and goals. - Job Requirements This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree three years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. **Knowledge, skills, and abilities include**: - Knowledge and understanding of colonization and decolonization inclusive of the myriad of complexities that arise i.e. racism, mental health. - Indigenous knowledges and its range of diversity, particularly as they relate to post-secondary education, current social environments, and local Indigenous communities. - Understanding of appropriate and respectful protocol with Indigenous communities and organizations, particularly Coast Salish. - Demonstrated commitment to valuing the principles of truth, reconciliation and respect, equity diversity and inclusion, and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment. - Ability to work with diverse Indigenous, Metis, Inuit peoples inclusive of diverse abilities, queer communities and people of color - Ability to work effectively and respectfully with Indigenous students, Elders and community members. - Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team of professionals. - Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills. - Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Demonstrated commitment to collaborative approaches and decision-making in a team environment. - Dem
