**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations & Finance, the Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance is responsible for supporting and participating in a wide range of operational and risk management activities of the Canadian Investment Division. The Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance will work in a team of 4 to 5 individuals and will be accountable for the following activities:
**What you will do**
- Support and maintain the risk monitoring, reporting, and control activities for the Canadian Investment Division, including Operational Risk Management and Risk Policy Assurance
- Support and maintain the Business Continuity Management Program for the Canadian Investment Division, liaising with Business Units within the division
- Conduct operational reviews of external borrowers of Canada Life, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for new and existing Investment business
- Conduct fund oversight activities to ensure fund managers follow documented policies and procedures relating to fund management activities
- Provide support on strategic projects, financial analysis or other responsibilities as identified

**What you will bring**
- Professional accounting designation, working toward completion of a designation, or equivalent experience preferred
- 4-5 years relevant work experience
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of investment operations and related risks is considered an asset
- Adaptable to changing work demands
- Demonstrated attention to detail
