Veterinary Assistant

**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding and comforting animals.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and recording results.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal behavior and health during visits, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care.
- Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology or animal care is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing situations in a busy veterinary practice.
