The Food Service Assistant Manager reports directly to the Food Service Manager and the General Manager. This person is an integral part of the Food Services operations and supports all duties related to Food Service orders, sales, preparation and coordination of all Food Service locations. Supervisory experience is an asset. The Food Services Assistant Manager will oversee six food locations. This position will support the hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and managing all food service staff during the operational season. The Food Service Assistant Manager must implement both directive and supportive leadership styles to ensure the growth of their department. At the core of this position, the Food Services Assistant Manager must maintain the company core vision and values.

**Job Duties**
- Assist Food Service Manager to manage 50 plus Food Services employees, including Cashiers, Central Stores Operations and Cooks
- Assist Food Service Manager to manage the hiring, training, performance management and progressive discipline practices to improve the skillsets and productivity of employees
- Assist Food Service Manager in food cost control
- Assist in scheduling duties for the food services department, scheduling adequately for busy days, events and internally catered events
- Guest Service quality assurance, maintaining and promoting the highest level of guest experience and employee integrity
- Assist Food Service Manager to perform opening, closing, and cleaning duties and the cash floats and drops daily to ensure smooth operations of all associated food locations
- Assist Food Service Manager to monitor the deliveries of alcoholic beverages responsibly, only in licensed and designated areas and maintain that smart serve specifications are followed
- Fully understand the POS System and methods of trouble shooting, reports and programs
- Assist Food Service Manager in tracking and reporting of sales, inventory, orders
- Assist Food Services Manager to create Food Services Event Sheets to communicate Event Specials to staff
- Assist Food Service Manager to adequately prepare food inventory, orders, and stocking for each day, focusing on the busier days and Events
- Work in collaboration with management team re: day-to-day operations and events
- Assist Food Service Manager to cater events, weddings, corporate picnics, birthdays and concerts
- Work with Food services Manager to plan execution well in advance of events, listed above, accounting for the expected turnout, maximizing efficiency with scheduling and minimizing waste and loss
- Assist manager to receive and verify orders and turning in applicable paperwork to the office
- Assist Food Service Manager to monitor the health and safety protocols of designated food service areas alongside coworkers to ensure clean and safe environments
- Monitor all equipment performance and suggest repairs when needed
- Assist Food Services Manager to organize and source out additional equipment if needed
- Organize Food Services Health and Safety program, training reports and policies, ensuring staff adherence and turning in all training reports to the office alongside Food Service Manager
- Ensure compliance of company policies and other directives expressed by Safari Niagara
- Monitor staff and provide relief and support to minimize effects from extreme heat / cold
- Follow proper radio protocol to ensure effective communication, especially during codes
- Accepts any added responsibilities that may be asked throughout employment with Safari Niagara to support other departments

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Management: 3 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve (preferred)

Ability to Commute:
