**Snow Clearing Sidewalks Team Member Job Description**

**Reports to**: Team Lead

**Works Daily with**: Garden City Groundskeeping Ltd.

**Snow Clearing Sidewalks Team Member Role**:
This snow clearing role reports directly to the Team Lead. The Snow Clearing Sidewalk Team Member clears steps and sidewalks and applies ice melter as directed. They ensure the company image is presented to customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

**Snow Clearing Sidewalks Team Member Responsibilities**:

- Adhere to Company and Local Health and Safety Policies
- Maintains Snow Clearing Best Practices
- Ensures Service Excellence

**The Results We See From Snow Clearing Sidewalks Team Member**:

- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Maintain site safety and cleanliness
- Ensure safety of equipment i.e. inform Team Lead of required repairs
- Safe operate equipment
- Always communicates any questions or concerns with the team
- Ensure best practices and methods for snow clearing are followed
- Maintain tools and operate equipment properly, wash after each snow event
- Snow clearing tasks are completed according to direction

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the snow clearing industry
- Snow clearing knowledge: proper snow clearing techniques, knowledge of piling areas, site best practices, proper industry accepted de-icing standards
- Available and on call when requested 24/7
- Effective communication and must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to office
- Ability to work independently and be a problem solver
- Operates snow clearing equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid G driver’s license and safe driving record (D or A License would be an asset)
- First Aid training and certification

**WORKING CONDITIONS & COMPENSATION**
- 24/7 on call shift work from November 15 to April 15.
- Competitive salary

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Snow Clearing: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (preferred)

Work Location: In person
