**Landscape Maintenance & Snow Clearing Team Lead Job Description**

**Reports to**: Operations Manager

**Works Daily with**: Garden City Groundskeeping Ltd. + SYNLawn Toronto Artificial Grass

**Landscape Maintenance & Snow Clearing Team Lead Role**: To supervise the high-quality delivery of landscape maintenance service, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, lead a variety of seasonal tasks related to each client’s specific needs/ contract, and ensure company image is presented to customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

**Landscape Maintenance & Snow Clearing Team Lead Responsibilities**:

- Adhere to company and local Health and Safety Policies
- Maintain efficient operations
- Maintain horticultural and snow clearing best practices
- Ensure service excellence

**The Results We See From Maintenance & Snow Clearing Team Lead**:

- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times
- Compliance with all company policies and regulations
- Work done in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Train and supervise safe operations of equipment and inform supervisor of required repairs
- Respectful communication with fellow team members regarding questions and concerns
- Supervise maintenance/ snow clearing team members
- Complete LMN time management tool per Team Member/ Site
- Inspect sites for required work and materials necessary for project completion
- Delegate required work
- Meet project timelines as directed by the Operations Manager
- Educate team and ensure horticultural and snow clearing best practices are followed
- Completes landscaping/ snow clearing tasks as required
- Maintain tools and operate equipment properly
- Maintenance and snow clearing tasks are completed according to contracts
- Communicate with client as required
- Site walk around with teams to ensure project scope is understood
- Track project performance and take before, during and after pictures of maintenance and snow removal
- Assigned duties as required

**Preferred Qualifications & Skills**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the landscape/grounds maintenance and snow clearing industry
- Valid G driver’s license and safe driving record
- First Aid training and certification
- Ability to work outdoors and coachable
- Horticultural training, plant material knowledge: garden bed preparation, flower and shrub plantings, plant material identification and all other elements of the landscape industry
- Snow clearing knowledge: proper snow clearing techniques, knowledge of piling areas, site best practices, proper industry accepted de-icing standards
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape maintenance and snow clearing duties
- Ability to manage a team and enjoys leading and training
- Planning and time management skills
- Effective communication and computer skills - must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to office and/or clients
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Experienced and competent to drive a truck and trailer and operate snow clearing equipment
- Ability to work both independently and be a problem solver
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

This is a full time, year round position. A mix of office work, site visits/supervision and interaction with clients are expected. In the summer we run Monday through Friday from 6:45 am to 5:30 pm and may work Saturdays.

**COMPENSATION**

This is an annual job with full time pay, includes benefits package after three months probation.
