Garry Mercer Trucking Inc. has been providing reliable logístical services since 1982. Our specialty is in over the road Less Than Load (LTL) and Full Truck Load (FTL) freight services between Ontario, Canada and the United States.

We currently have an opening for full time days as a permanent local city dispatcher at our Mississauga facility.

Postion is Monday - Friday, hourly with overtime paid after 40 hours.

Responsibilities will include
- Schedule and dispatch drivers for deliveries and pick-ups within the GTA
- Helping with order entry and supporting the dispatch team
- Assist drivers with routing and directions for efficiency
- Communicate specific freight requirments and procedures
- Update customers regarding delivery/pick-up status
- Dispatch equipment to support customer requirments
- Good command of verbal and written communications with team and customers
- Ability to manage high stress situations calmly
- Ability to multi-task with dispatching and dealing with customsers
- Positive attitude combined with good people skills

GMTI Requires the following for this job:

- Proficiency with computer software including but not limited to the Outlook, Excel and Word
- Good knowledge of the GTHA, Barrie and most of Southern Ontario.
- Able to work in a team environment and high pressure situations
- Able to have good communication skills
- High School Diploma
- Supply Chain Management Courses are Considered an Asset
- 2 year experience in local operations/dispatch experience prefered

**Salary**: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- dispatching in a trucking enviroment: 2 years (preferred)
