**Location: Hamilton, ON**

**Job Overview**: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time, Medical Billing Specialist to join our Client's dynamic sports medicine/pain clinic in Hamilton. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes, working closely with our healthcare team to optimize patient care through accurate financial management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Process claims for reimbursement through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
- Ensure accurate billing using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems, as well as other applicable medical codes.
- Review, verify, and correct patient billing records and insurance claims.
- Update patient accounts with accurate billing information and resolve discrepancies.
- Track, follow up, and appeal unpaid or denied claims with appropriate agencies.
- Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and patient confidentiality (PHIPA).
- Collaborate with administrative and medical staff to ensure timely billing submissions and address any billing inquiries.
- Reconcile accounts, ensure proper documentation, and maintain detailed financial records for clinic billing.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, including experience with OHIP and WSIB claims.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical billing software.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare billing regulations and medical insurance processes.
