Good Neighbors Canada
Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in South Korea in 1991. After 5 years, we obtained consultative status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC). Good Neighbors Canada launched in March 2017 in London, Ontario. Under the Good Neighbors’ international governance, we focus on fundraising, refugee and newcomer settlement programs, and global development campaigns to support field projects.
Good Neighbors Canada created and launched Goods4Causes, to reach our donors and supporters across Canada. Goods4Causes sells handmade items from communities in 35 countries and local social enterprises in the London and Toronto area, Ontario. This is a space to showcase wonderful, handmade and sustainable products, as well as to help our local community and Canadian social enterprises.
Role
The Social Enterprise Program Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing management and expansion of our Goods4Causes platform, and other essential administrative tasks. The Social Enterprise Program Coordinator will engage in a team approach and thereby strengthen our organization's capacity as a whole.
Reports to Project Manager
TASKS
- Promotion sales of Goods4Causes products including via online and offline channels
- Management and development of the Goods4Causes social media platforms
- Research and register for one-time and recurring artisan market appearances within Toronto and the GTA, and attend these markets for sale of Goods4Causes stock
- Management of a personal stock inventory including regular auditing and replenishing
- Regular sales reporting in line with GNCA requirements.
- Seek and find angel investment opportunities to secure funding for development and expansion of the Goods4Causes initiative.
- Broadening the bank of vendors selling through Goods4Causes, including reaching out to vendors from equity-seeking or marginalized groups to sell as Birch Tree Initiative vendors.
- Liaise with vendors and create marketing materials based on vendors’ stories and successes selling through Goods4Causes.
- Maintenance of the online sales platform, developing new product listings when new vendors sign up, utilizing key words to maximize search engine performance and visibility.
- Create a sales representative team scheme and manage the team.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 20 hours per week, ability to work evenings and weekends where market attendance requires
- Ability to travel across the GTA and access to own vehicle for stock transportation purposes (auto mileage will be provided based on the log)
- Excellent stock handling skills, keen eye for detail in reporting, experience with database systems
- Technological skills including website maintenance, knowledge of search engine optimization
- Social media proficiency including with Instagram Reels, Stories and Feed posts (please share any links to accounts or post portfolios you have successfully managed in the past)
- Strong communication skills for calling and talking with donors, volunteers and vendors
- High degree of initiative and sales acumen
- Experience managing online business/es
- Experience partnering with angel investors is an asset
- Ability to work independently and maintain self-motivation
- Resourceful with sensitivity to cost effective solutions
- Team player who enjoys interaction with colleagues, professionals, peers, volunteers and those served by the organization
- Fluency in English language
**COMPENSATION**
$20 per hour
