**Maintenance Technician - Planner-Scheduler**

Reporting to the Plant Manager and Chief Engineer, The Maintenance Technician - Planner will work jointly and collaborate with Operations, Shift Engineers and Maintenance Technicians to coordinate and schedule all work activities for and support plants managed by AtkinsRéalis. This position requires the skills to develop, manage, assess and carry out work plans to enable the effective completion of work activities according to across the work management system, executed safely, effectively, on time and according to its priority.

In addition to the planning duties, the Maintenance Technician - Planner will be required to complete and coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance activities, manage contract resources, and provide call out coverage as required.

It is anticipated that the Maintenance Technician - Planner is expected to spend the majority of their time in the planning and scheduling of work, but may be required to support the maintenance team in a hands-on capacity depending on operational and maintenance requirements. The allocation of their time will vary depending on the needs of the plants and at the direction of the Plant Manager.

**Your role within the team**:
**_ Maintenance Planning and Scheduling: _**
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all equipment and systems within the plants.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to prioritize and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to plan, schedule, and track maintenance tasks. Ensure work orders and other required documentation are created and properly scoped and reported for all work.
- Ensure that all maintenance work orders are properly planned, scheduled, and assigned to the appropriate personnel.
- Utilize contracting strategies, including supply of parts and vendor services, to ensure required resources are available to complete the work as per the plans.
- Monitor the progress of maintenance activities and adjust schedules as needed to meet production requirements.
- Conduct reviews, incorporate revisions and ensure accuracy of asset information and maintenance programs that are modified in the CMMS system.
- Assist in ongoing evaluation of the Preventative Maintenance program for continuous improvement.

**_ Capital Project Management: _**
- Collaborate with engineering, project management office and operations teams on both AtkinsRéalis and Client sides to identify capital projects aimed at improving plant reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for capital projects, ensuring alignment with AtkinsRéalis goals and objectives.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for capital projects.
- Oversee the execution of capital projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Utilize safe work practices in line with AtkinsRéalis’ and OHSA policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, address issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

**_ Maintenance Coordination: _**
- Serve as a liaison between maintenance, operations, and engineering departments on both AtkinsRéalis and Client sides to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Coordinate with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities during planned outages, minimizing disruptions to operations schedules.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and external service providers to support maintenance activities and capital projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance teams, assisting with troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
- Collaborate and support other Operations and Maintenance Personnel as needed within AtkinsRéalis.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs.
- Generate reports and metrics related to maintenance performance, capital project status, and equipment reliability.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to optimize maintenance processes. Provide regular assessments and reports of work plan completion and variances.
- Prepare presentations and summaries to communicate maintenance and project updates to management and stakeholders.
- Other duties as required.
