**Position Summary**
A Freight Traffic Coordinator role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic in the container yard, in order facilitate fulfilment of Service Level Agreements and an optimized Customer Experience.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Gate Operations Coordination 70%**
- Inspect the condition of incoming container in the yard to ensure there is no damage on the container.
- Responsible for working closely with a multitude driver of different carriers performing daily ingates/out gates transactions via Eterm.
- Provide daily report on TEUs count (ingate, out gate, total count of containers in the yard) to all staff.
- Ensure daily driver turn over time or inventory report is provided to the customer (if required).
- Coordinate with the crane operators via radio calls regarding the pick and drop location of the container.
- Update the ingate and out gate status of the container on the eterm system and Teams.
- Provide property maintenance and repair details to the terminal manager.
- Report the damaged condition of the loaded container to customer and dispatch team.
**Yard Operations Coordination 20%**
- Responsible for inventory check of the containers in the yard.
- Monitor the reefer temperature on the containers.
- Manage and control traffic in the yard.
- Flexi bag removal from the container (if required).
- Monitor for compliance with Safety rules and regulations in the yard. Escalate non-compliance issues to RESC or their reporting manager as appropriate.
**Health and Safety Committee 10%**
- Attend monthly H&S committee meeting and take meeting minutes (if needed).
- Inspect the workplace on a regular basis.
- Identify and evaluate potential and actual workplace hazards.
- Participate in health and safety investigations if required.
- Monitor effectiveness of health and safety programs and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and transportation systems
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
