Job description

Canaan Site Furnishings is the leading provider of public site furniture in Canada. Since 2006, Canaan has worked with architects and designers across North America to create attractive, functional environments. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with proven success in developing new clients and closing deals to join our sales team.

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain relationships with commercial clients.
- Outbound cold-calling across specific industries and discuss opportunities.
- Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions to customers.
- Researching to identify and map out potentially attractive markets to pursue.
- Update and maintain CRM databases - Document all call activities and update the CRM database with key client data.
- Develop market strategies by researching lists of high potential prospects.
- Maintain weekly, monthly, and overall campaign targets (metrics include but are not limited to; call volume, lead generation, new business booked).
- Build your leads and maintain a healthy lead pipeline of contacts that you can reach out to in your business development efforts.
- Proactively seeking new business opportunities;
- Book meetings, run virtual and on-site meetings/demonstrations, and follow up to close new business;
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and product knowledge.

Work closely with the sales & marketing team members;
- Mitigate and resolve customer disputes and quality issues;
- All other duties assigned as required.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in outbound sales, preferably in B2B situations;
- University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience required;
- Ambitious, motivated, and driven.
- Results-driven attitude with a passion for business development.
- Ability to quickly grasp concepts and learn about new industries and industry trends, then using this knowledge to connect with industry leaders.
- A strong ability to research in a commercial environment is a must.
- A background in Market Research is valued.
- An ability to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, relevant industry trends, and competition.
- Well-developed communication skills that can deliver an engaging prospecting call and pitch.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is a must;
- Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word/Excel);
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Must be a motivated, self-starter with a proactive personality who can work independently or with a team. Strong attention to detail and follow up skills;
- Results-oriented, self-motivated professional that can identify prospect clients as well as maintain existing contracts. Ability to build lasting relationships with customers;
- Time management skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks;
- The focus of this role will be to assist the company in generating new business so experience in 'new business' selling techniques is preferred although there will be an amount of legacy customer management.
