Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Montreal. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company, This position manages the team that is responsible for all A/P Trade Processing and Customer Billing for direct transactions. This position collaborates with Customer Service to ensure all customer orders are billed accurately and on a timely basis.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for general ledger journal entries, month end closing procedures and analyzing balances in accounts for appropriateness. This position performs account reconciliations and requires detailed knowledge of all related general ledger accounts and their contents. This position is required to meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting and tax deadlines, providing appropriate analysis and research as needed. This position also handles audit requests related to this area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of trade vendor invoices.
- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of direct customer billing.
- Monitors daily workload and adjusts resources as needed.
- Reviews daily transactions to ensure financial impact is accurate.
- Ensure pricing or quantity variances are resolved in the proper month
- Develops and implements strategies to improve processes and create efficiencies.
- Supervises, trains, and develops the team members.
- Works independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ensure accurate month
- end, quarter-end and year-end close.
- Assists with general ledger accounts in assigned accounting area(s) to include preparation of supporting schedules, preparation of appropriate journal entries, and reconciliation or account(s).
- Works with the business to develop new processes as required, Customer Service, Purchasing, Management and Accounting.
- Ensure compliance of SOX controls.
- Identifies any oversights or process issues and remedies the situation.
- Other special projects as requested.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- Must have excellent leadership & administrative skills.
- Cost accounting experience a plus.
- Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
- Bilingual (English and French) required.
- Must be a self-starter, results driven, and capable of working autonomously with limited supervision.
- Positive and professional demeanor, excellent verbal, and written communication skills,
- Collaborative skills: works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of the flow of A/P and Billing transactions and their impact on Financial Statements.
- Ability to take initiative and build processes that add value to the business.
- Advanced understanding of local or US GAAP accounting principles.
- Distribution industry experience is preferred.
