**Accounting Clerk**
We are currently seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk who looks forward to being part of a team that is creating a best-in-class culture. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting the Finance Department with day-to-day accounting and administration support. This position will participate in accounts payable and receivable activities, general accounting, and administration.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail; analyzing and reconciling accounts payable ledgers and other month end tasks as required.
- Monitor customer receivables and follow-up as required with past due invoices.
- Collecting data and information for management.
- Assisting in maintaining the financial reporting system, keeping accounting and bookkeeping entries current and accurate.
- Provide financial information by preparing special reports; completing special projects as required.
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and accounting activities.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal and provincial financial legal requirements.
- Assist with year end audit preparation and audit inquiries.
- Responds to any general inquiries including answering a multi-line telephone system and ensuring staff, clients and visitors are greeted and directed to the appropriate resource in a friendly courteous manner.
- Manages filing systems for all accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Orders supplies, receives and maintains an inventory of required supplies.
- Answering general requests, queries and correspondence on own initiative.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Finance Department to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Accounting Degree/Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate with all.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Above-average accurate data entry skills.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Customer service orientated.
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
