Future North / Futur du Nord is a charitable organization driven by a youth-led collective impact initiative. Together, we are making great strides in empowering youth leadership and supporting youth-led projects throughout the District of Sudbury-Manitoulin.
Through collaboration with Tamarack Institute and other community partners, Future North / Futur du Nord is supporting the YESS Initiative (Youth Employment and Skills Strategy) project. The YESS Initiative is a Collective Impact project aimed at improving youth outcomes by supporting their transition into education, training, and employment.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as the **Project Director.**This position is a **full-time contract** position which prioritizes **young professionals who are under the age of 30** and is contingent upon funding availability. The **Project Director** plays a crucial role in the implementation of the organization's Strategic Plan and the YESS Initiative Project delivery as well as overseeing operations, managing key relationships, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Future North’s mission. This position is entrusted with leading with empathy, transparency, and a commitment to anti-oppressive practices while fostering a positive, inclusive environment for youth and staff alike.

**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Project Coordination & Leadership**
- Act as the primary liaison between the Tamarack Institute, YESS Leadership Table, and local community stakeholders.
- Lead and support the implementation of community-based strategies for the YESS initiative, ensuring alignment with collective goals.
- Facilitate the development of annual work plans, budgets, and project activities in collaboration with the YESS Leadership Table.
- Design and facilitate engagement strategies to involve youth and community members at all stages of the initiative.
- Collaborate with Tamarack and community partners to develop and implement evaluation tools for ongoing project assessment.
**2. Strategic Leadership and Vision Implementation**
- Work closely with the YESS Leadership Table to shape and implement the Collective Impact strategy and ensure progress towards achieving desired youth outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Youth Expert Panel to shape and implement the long-term vision and strategic goals of the organization.
- Adjust strategies as needed to ensure continued alignment with the organization and its projects' evolving needs and priorities.
**2. Project and Operations Management**
- Manage the Innovation Fund allocation, ensuring that funding supports innovative youth employment strategies.
- Ensure the successful delivery of agency programs in line with organizational policies.
- Collect and analyze data to track the outcomes of YESS activities, ensuring the community meets the overall project outcomes.
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports on progress, including contributions towards the project goals such as youth engagement, leadership development, and skills-building.
- Develop and manage the annual operating plan and budget, ensuring efficient fiscal oversight and accountability.
- Oversee risk management strategies, operational policies, and the evaluation of program effectiveness.
**3. Human Resources Management**
- Lead recruitment efforts to hire qualified staff, ensuring proper orientation and training.
- Oversee the implementation of HR policies and performance management processes.
- Foster professional development opportunities for staff and create a healthy, inclusive work environment.
**5. Marketing and Communications**
- Work with local partners to champion the YESS project and advocate for youth-related programming.
- Raise the visibility of Future North / Futur du Nord in the community.
- Ensure consistency with the agency's brand and represent the organization in communications with stakeholders, including media, community members, and government officials.
- Cultivate relationships with potential sponsors, donors, and funding organizations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Convening Organization and engage regularly with the YESS Leadership Table, community members, and other stakeholders.
